This article describes what Solibri Inside is in a nutshell and gives an introduction to the product.
Solibri Inside is a cloud-based tool which is used for quality assurance (QA) on building information models in the design phase. It helps model authors fix errors as they design, leading to shorter review cycles by BIM Coordinators, less rework and lower risk. It also allows BIM Coordinators to easily track and communicate project changes to the model authors.
Currently, Solibri Inside is available for:
- GRAPHISOFT Archicad: The minimum required version is Archicad 26 (build 4019)
- ALLPLAN Bimplus
- ALLPLAN desktop: The minimum required version is 2021
- Vectorworks: The minimum required version is Vectorworks 2023 SP3 build 679347

Quality Assurance and Solibri Inside
Quality assurance is a time-consuming and tedious process that needs to be carried out at each transition point where information is shared between the project stakeholders - on both the sender and the receiver ends. Unfortunately, potential problems are often recognized too late, and the costs to fix the problem are already comparably high. To tackle this, Solibri Inside brings quality assurance to the start of the project, which helps to identify and solve issues already during the model authoring process.
Since project information serves as a basis for all decisions within the AEC industry, its correctness, completeness, and compliance are crucial. With the help of Solibri Inside, you can ensure that all decisions made in the project are based on correct and up-to-date information and that everyone involved can contribute to determining the criteria that describe the required quality.
With Solibri Inside, all project team members have access to shared, company- or project-wide quality assurance requirement specifications and can use those by checking the model contents they are dealing with right within the (authoring BIM) tool they are working on a daily basis. This allows everyone to focus on the quality of the team's deliverables.
To initiate a quality assurance processes throughout the project, the requirements can be formalized and shared before the project begins. Solibri Inside allows you to ensure that when model information is sent from the sender to the receiver or is transferred into a shared data environment, it has already been checked against the agreed requirements.
Rules and Checks in Solibri Inside
The quality assurance in Solibri Inside is based on rules that are grouped into checks. Each rule is based on a specific rule type configured by the user with well-defined parameters. When you subscribe to a package, you get full access to the rule types included in the package and can configure your own rules based on these rule types (for example, Door Clearance). This way, you (and others in your organization) can check the design against the specified requirements.
When you create a rule, you will need to define the rule target(s). Targets are the component(s) that a rule will check. For an easier start, Solibri Inside provides various default targets as standard content, but you can create more targets according to your needs and use them in the rules you create. To filter and organize your rules more easily, you can use labels which you assign to rules.
You can group your rules into checks, which can be run in the design tool environment.
Tip
All targets, rules and checks preconfigured by Solibri can be duplicated and edited, so you won’t need to start creating content from scratch!
Solibri Inside User Interface
Solibri Inside has two environments, the Solibri Inside Plugin and the Solibri Inside Editor:
Solibri Inside Plugin
The Solibri Inside Plugin is an interactive web-based user interface that integrates Solibri Inside functionalities into an existing BIM tool. After you've run a check for your model in the Plugin, you can view the results, highlighting possible errors in your model.
Solibri Inside Editor
The Solibri Inside Editor is a browser-based environment that can be used to configure rules and targets (components to be checked) and to create checks and labels.
